The Frenchman will miss Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash with Manchester United because of a hamstring strain, and will join goalkeeper Tim Krul (shoulder), full-back Mathieu Debuchy (groin) and sriker Loic Remy (calf) on the casualty list.

However, both Krul and Remy are improving and could be available for the trip to Stoke on April 12, while midfielder Sammy Ameobi (knee) is back in training.

Provisional squad: Elliot, Alnwick, Santon, Dummett, Haidara, Coloccini, Williamson, Yanga-Mbiwa, S Taylor, Tiote, Anita, Marveaux, Ben Arfa, Gouffran, Gosling, Cisse, De Jong, Shola Ameobi, Armstrong.
