Velez wrapped up the title some time ago, but they were in no mood to take it easy on Atletico today as Ferreyra opened the scoring 10 minutes before the break.

Lucas Pratto added a second in the 83rd minute before Ferreyra grabbed his second from the spot two minutes from time.

Newell's Old Boys claimed a 3-1 victory at Argentinos Juniors to win the scrap for second place thanks to Ignacio Scocco's brace.

Newell's led 2-0 at the break thanks to strikes from Victor Figueroa (21) and Scocco (34).

Juan Luis Anangono pulled one back just before the hour mark, but Scocco struck again in the dying seconds to ensure victory for the visitors.

Belgrano Cordoba beat Estudiantes 1-0 to finish third, level on points with Newell's, thanks to Claudio Perez's penalty two minutes from the end.

But Lanus, who could have finished second with a win, could only draw 0-0 San Lorenzo. Lanus had Diego Valeri sent off in the 82nd minute.

In the day's other game, substitute Nicolas Blandi scored in the last minute as Boca Juniors came from behind to beat Godoy Cruz 2-1.

Armando Cooper opened the scoring on the hour mark, but Guillermo Fernandez levelled four minutes later and Blandi sealed it late on.
