Football News: Eduardo Salvio, Benfica

Portuguese Primeira Liga

Benfica went top of the Liga as they came from behind to win 2-1 at Pacos Ferreira.

Cicero put the hosts ahead after 16 minutes, but Lima levelled two minutes later and scored the winner in the 71st minute.

It puts them a point clear of second-placed Porto, though they have played a game more.

Third-placed Braga also won, with two second-half goals helping them to a 2-0 victory at Guimaraes.

Eder opened the scoring after 54 minutes and Hugo Viana sealed the points four minutes from the end.

Turkish Super Lig

Galatasaray suffered their first defeat of the new Super Lig season as they went down 2-0 at surprise package Orduspor.

The hosts, who finished 14th in the Turkish top flight last season, climbed to second place with their third win of the campaign thanks to goals from Hasan Kabze (nine) and Bogdan Stancu (68).

The victory leaves unbeaten Orduspor a point behind leaders Gala, who picked up four wins and a draw from their opening five fixtures.

Danish Superliga

FC Nordsjaelland strengthened their grip on third place in the Superliga with a 3-0 home win over Esbjerg.

Joshua John fired the hosts into a 32nd-minute lead, while Kasper Lorentzen added a second in the 51st minute, just moments after Esbjerg had lost Yussef Toutouh to a red card.

Nicolai Stokholm completed the scoring a minute from full-time as Nordsjaelland moved to within a point of second-placed AaB and five of leaders FC Copenhagen.

Defeat for Esbjerg keeps the club third from bottom.

Swedish Allsvenska

Syrianska inflicted a heavy 4-1 defeat on bottom side GAIS in Friday's sole Allsvenskan encounter.

The visiting side went ahead on the stroke of half-time through Haris Skenderovic, but GAIS levelled through Romarinho three minutes after the restart.

George Mourad restored Syrianska's lead within 60 seconds of entering the action as a 50th-minute substitute, before Dinko Felic (57) and Yussuf Saleh (78) completed the scoring.

Syrianska's eighth win in 24 games this season lifts them to 12th place.
