Silva doubles PSG's lead...

French Ligue 1

Paris St Germain began the defence of their Ligue 1 title with a 1-1 draw against the team who they replaced as champions.

PSG claimed the title from Montpellier last season to become French champions for the first time in 19 years but, despite a big spending summer, they could not claim victory in their opener at the Stade de la Mosson.

Remy Cabella had given the home side the lead after just 10 minutes but a second-half goal from Maxwell and the dismissal of Abdelhamid El Kaoutari ensured Laurent Blanc's men did not head back to the capital empty handed.

Belgian Pro League

Lokeren took top spot in the Belgian Pro League after exchanging six second-half goals with KV Kortrijk in a lively 3-3 draw.

Kortrijk striker Ivan Santini seemed determined to thwart the visitors at every turn and he will have been disappointed to not earn the West Flanders side all three points with a well-taken hat-trick.

Hamdi Harbaoui opened the scoring in the 52nd minute and two minutes later Santini opened his account.

He then responded to a Lokeren double-salvo from Jeremy Taravel (62) and Jordan Remacle (64) with a late brace, hitting his second goal seven minutes from time and ensuring the points were shared on the final whistle with a penalty.

Dutch Eredivisie

Newly-promoted Cambuur Leeuwarden are still searching for their first win of the Eredivisie season after losing 2-0 to Roda JC in Kerkrade.

The Eerste division champions started the season with a goalless draw against NEC Breda last week and a 35th-minute goal from Krisztian Nemeth coupled with a last-minute strike from Mitchell Donald saw Roda claim all three points.

The result sees Roda claim their first win of the season, though, after they lost their opener 3-0 to champions Ajax.
