Cerezo, Yokohoma stay unbeaten in J.League
Cerezo Osaka and Yokohama F. Marinos were left with the only remaining 100% records in the new J.League season after both recorded narrow home wins on Saturday.
Yokohama lead the way on goal difference after beating 10-man Jubilo Iwata 2-1 for their third successive victory, Shingo Hyodo netting a 60th-minute winner after visiting midfielder Hiroki Yamada had wiped out Yuzo Kurihara's opener for the hosts - both goals coming in first-half stoppage time.
Jubilo finished with 10 men after losing Jung Woo-young to a 69th-minute red card as their hunt for a first win of the campaign continues.
In the battle between two sides who had won both their opening matches, Cerezo came out on top as Hotaru Yamaguchi's 47th-minute strike earned them a 1-0 win over FC Tokyo.
Urawa Red Diamonds also dropped their first points of the season after drawing 2-2 at Oita Trinita, although it could have been worse for the visitors after they conceded twice in the opening five minutes.
Takuya Marutani and Daiki Takamatsu were the men on target to put Oita in charge, but Genki Haraguchi halved the deficit in the eighth minute before Yuki Abe salvaged a point for Urawa in the 42nd minute.
Last season's runners-up Vegalta Sendai secured their opening win after beating 2011 champions Kashiwa Reysol 2-1.
Goals at either end of the match from Toshihiro Matsushita (five minutes) and Wilson (86) saw Vegalta Sendai to victory, with Kashiwa having equalised through Leandro Domingues' 52nd-minute effort.
At the other end of the table, a 90th-minute leveller from Kim Kun-hoan earned Omiya Ardija their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw at Omiya Ardija, who had gone ahead through Takamitsu Tomiyama's 76th-minute goal.
Kawasaki Frontale prop up the standings after losing a nine-goal thriller at Sagan Tosu 5-4.
Sagan looked to be cruising to victory after goals from Kei Ikeda (28), Kim Min-woo (50), Kota Mizunuma (51) and Yohei Toyoda (54) put them 4-0 up, but Kawasaki reduced the deficit back to two goals with efforts from Yoshito Okubo (64) and Yu Kobayashi (70).
Toyoda's second of the match in the 73rd minute saw Sagan ease away again, and that strike proved decisive as Kawasaki pulled two more goals back before the end through Brazilian duo Renato (82) and Patrick (87).
In other games, a last-minute winner from Yuki Honda gave Nagoya Grampus Eight a 1-0 win at Vantforet Kofu while Shonan Bellmare and Shimizu S-Pulse shared the points in a 1-1 draw, Kosuke Taketomi's opener for Shonan being cancelled out by Kohei Hattanda.
