Hamburg vs Augsburg Preview

Augsburg will be travelling to Hamburg "with a fire in our bellies" following a 2-1 defeat at home to Nuremberg last weekend, according to their coach Markus Weinzierl.

Hamburg take the lead seconds after the restart.

That defeat stalled the strugglers' climb up the Bundesliga table and Weinzierl wants them to get back on track immediately with a second away win in northern Germany after triumphing in Bremen recently.

"We know that 99% will not be enough - we always have to give more than that and exceed ourselves to get the points we need," he said.

"We've got to prevent Hamburg from playing their game, and then we can be successful there.

"The (Nuremberg) defeat means we head to Hamburg with a fire in our bellies and we know that we are able to get the points there."

Last weekend's reverse saw the gap to safety widen to seven points while Hoffenheim moved within two points behind, with both clubs now seemingly fighting it out between them for the relegation play-off berth currently occupied by the Bavarians.

As such, Hamburg are preparing to face a side who are going to be as keen as they are to get three points at the HSV Arena.

"Augsburg have transformed since the first half of the season," recognised their coach Thorsten Fink.

"They have played a fantastic second half of the season, but we're always good for a goal and we can go into the game with self-confidence."

Fink is set to stick with the defensive system which he used with success against Stuttgart last weekend, when Artjoms Rudnevs scored the only goal of the game, and he has captain Heiko Westermann back on board after injury.
