"If you can win in Barcelona you can win in Manchester," Ozil told German newspaper Die Welt.
The German international was referring to Real's midweek 3-1 Copa del Rey victory at Camp Nou which they followed up impressively with a 2-1 win over Barcelona again in La Liga at the Bernabeu.
With the confidence flowing through this Real team, Jose Mourinho's men must feel they can get the result they need at Old Trafford to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League following a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
"We have great respect for United but we aim to play our game; that way we can beat anybody," he said.
Ozil added: "It's going to be a difficult match against a really good squad, but we already showed what we're capable of in the first leg."
"If you play for Real Madrid, winning titles is an obligation. In La Liga Barcelona has everything on their side but we have big goals. Our objective is to win the Copa and the Champions League. It can be a really successful season.
"A football player should never give up early".
Tuesday's clash between two of Europe's biggest teams will centre around Real star Cristiano Ronaldo, who will be marking his return to Old Trafford for the first time since leaving for the Spanish Capital.
Ronaldo spent six years at United and scored for the Spaniards in the first leg last month, cancelling out Danny Welbeck's 20th-minute opener to earn Madrid a 1-1 draw.
