Mandzukic has been in magnificent form since he joined Bayern from Wolfsburg during the summer, topping the Bundesliga scoring charts with 14 goals and helping Die Roten take a near unassailable 15 point lead at the top of the table.
This Friday's clash between Bayern and Wolfsburg marks the first time Mandzukic will return to the Volkswagen Arena since his departure from Die Wolfe, but Mandzukic claims that the significance of the occasion will not overwhelm him and claims he will not go easy on his former club.
"I am delighted to came back to this stadium to play again, and to see my old team-mates and old friends off the pitch," Mandzukic was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
"I had a good time there, but I can shut my feelings for them out once the game starts. I have the feeling it'll be a special evening for me.
"They [Wolfsburg] have a good team with good individual players. We want to be the boss on the pitch."
Mandzukic also revealed that he was pleased to have made such a good start to his Bayern career and claimed he was relishing the challenge of fighting striker Mario Gomez for a spot in the first-team.
"I have always believed in myself and was convinced from the start that I could go on a run like this," Mandzukic added.
"It was a bit disappointing not to have started the game last weekend, but Mario also deserves to start games so that he gets back to his old form. He will be very important for us.
"Being in this team is something special and I want it to go on like this."
Mandzukic has scored a total of 17 goals in all competitions for Bayern so far.
