Spurs have enjoyed a purple patch of form in recent times, picking up four wins in their last five games, playing exciting, counter-attacking football in the process, and they currently find themselves third in the Premier League table.
It is no surprise that the Lilywhites have been made firm favourites to beat League One side Coventry City when the two sides meet in the FA Cup at White Hart Lane, but Parker has warned his side against underestimating the Sky Blues, especially given that the Sky Blues themselves have been in good form having tasted defeat only once in 11 games in all competitions.
"These games always turn out to be tricky and not quite as easy as everyone suspects," Parker was quoted as saying by the official Spurs website.
"It will be a tough game and Coventry are doing well in their own league as well. It will be difficult.
"We need to be at it and continue where we've left off in the last couple of weeks - and get the result."
Parker also highlighted how important it was for his side to make a fast start in the game.
"We need to be solid and try to get out of the blocks quickly, to get up against them, try to get an early goal and then dominate the game," Parker added.
"The team is doing very well. The Christmas period is always an important time and we've done brilliantly.
"We're looking good. Game by game, we've got stronger as well.
"We're on a very good run and we need to continue that."
Parker, who has not started for Spurs in over four months, will likely be included in the first team against the Sky Blues as manager Andre Villas-Boas seeks to slowly integrate him back into the squad.
