Henry had arrived at Arsenal for a short-term loan earlier in the year and scored two goals from five appearances. His return to the Premier League after an absence of four and a half years was warmly received by the Arsenal supporters as well as those from other clubs.
Wenger has been repeatedly questioned recently on whether he intends to carry out a similar loan move for the New York Red Bulls striker as the new MLS season is only expected to kick off in March. The 63-year-old stated that he is definitely considering a move for a new striker but has not given it a great deal of thought.
The French striker currently captains the Red Bulls and scored 15 goals for them in the previous season as they finished third in the Eastern Conference division. He was also spotted recently at the Emirates Stadium and watched the Gunners' impressive 5-2 win over local rivals Tottenham last weekend demonstrating that he remains an avid fan of the north London club.
"I just spoke about that [signing Henry] because people asked me," Wenger told arsenal.com. "I said I don't rule it out because he's in good shape but I haven't made up my mind yet.
"I haven't spoken to Thierry about it. I just answered a question honestly that I have not completely decided how I will sort it out in my head.
"We are maybe looking at a striker because Gervinho is going to the Africa Cup of Nations."
The Arsenal coach also believes that the MLS is increasingly becoming a fertile ground for Premier League clubs to search for suitable January signings.
"They [MLS players] become more and more popular because the players move into championships that are played through the normal year and are then available at the beginning of the year for European [leagues]," he said.
"It's good for the European teams but I personally believe that the whole of football, all over the world, should be played from January until November."
Aside from Gervinho, Arsenal could also be without the services of Marouane Chamakh as the striker will also be called for the Morroco national team for the African Nations Cup.
