Ronaldo had some chances in the game but struggled to rifle in accurate shots and was muscled off the ball by the Athletic Bilbao defenders in a match Real won 5-1 on Saturday.
However, a sub-par night for the Portuguese was more than compensated by goals from Ramos, Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and a brace by Karim Benzema.
The result saw Los Merengues close in on city rivals Atletico Madrid although Diego Simeone's side can maintain the five-point gap with a win over Granada on Sunday.
"The good thing about this team is the wide range of players who can create chances and that not always the same players score," Ramos told Realmadrid.com
"He [Ronaldo] is a really ambitious footballer, who lives on goals. Maybe he'll be a bit upset about not scoring but he'll be happy with the win."
Ramos got himself on the scoresheet after scoring off a header from a free-kick by Ozil. And the Spanish international was happy with the result even if Barcelona's win over Zaragoza earlier in the night prevented them from catching up on their arch-rivals.
"It's been quite a nice week, with the goal for Spain and now this. The celebration was the dove of freedom and it was for Özil, who I dedicated my first goal to.
"Although we were unable to reduce points difference with Barcelona, we are happy with the job that we have done.
"We saw a Real Madrid eager to fight for the win from the first minute and that's important.
"Football is about momentum and physically and mentally the team is in good form and we have to keep things going."
Madrid now have an enticing Champions League tie against Manchester City at the Etihad on Wednesday to look forward to.
