Bundesliga champions Dortmund have endured a stuttering start to their domestic season and managed to win only five of the 11 games played in the league so far.
Title rivals Bayern on the other hand, have swept the competition aside with 10 wins, and Die Roten are already considered favourites to for the title this season.
Despite the commanding lead Bayern have over Dortmund at the moment with about a third of the season gone, Kehl is confident his side can recover from their poor form and win the title come the end of the season.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Kehl said: "I think the current table situation will not be the same at the end [of the season].
"There are still a lot of matches to be played, and we still have half a year in front of us.
"We will keep on believing in our ability to finish in a top position.
"We certainly do have the potential and therefore the season for us is far from over."
For all of Dortmund's struggles domestically, Die Borussen have impressed in the Champions League and are on the brink of qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition.
"So far we have been outstanding," the Dortmund captain said of his side's Champions League performances.
"[We] really [have] the best situation and the possibility to clinch everything next week in Amsterdam."
Dortmund are at home to Greuther Furth in their next Bundesliga fixture.
