Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the hero for the French outfit on Tuesday evening after setting up all four goals to put them in prime position to qualify from the group, opening up a five-point lead over Dynamo Kiev, who were held to a goalless draw against Porto.
Ancelotti was especially pleased as the win came after a 2-1 loss against St Etienne in the league over the weekend.
"It was a very good game. The reaction tonight [Tuesday] showed that the match against Saint-Etienne was an accident," he said in the post-match press conference.
PSG went a goal up in the first half and stepped up to score three more in the second half. Ancelotti revealed that the decision to bring on Marco Verratti changed the game and enabled his side to break down their opponents while also handing out praise for a selfless performance from Ibrahimovic.
"I did not shout at half-time. There was a problem and I decided to fix it by bringing [Marco] Verratti in. The result was that we had more space.
"We were probably the better team and earned a great win. Zlatan [Ibrahimović, who provided assists for all four goals] is a great player because he also plays for his team-mates, he scores and helps others to do so. I am very happy because he is 100% involved in the team, he is a fantastic player and an outstanding character."
"[Ezequiel] Lavezzi is a player who has a lot of speed, and that can be very good on the counterattack paired with [Jérémy] Ménez. You must also see that in the second half we had two young players with a 20-year-old [Verratti] and a 17-year-old [Adrien Rabiot]. That is something that is good for the team."
PSG will next face Dynamo Kiev, where a draw will guarantee them qualification from the group.
