The Spanish and German champions clash in yet another mouth-watering encounter in UEFA Champions League Group D. The two teams played each other a fortnight ago in Germany with Dortmund emerging 2-1 victors to top the group with seven points from three games.
Madrid - second in Group B with six points - cannot afford a repeat performance on Tuesday given that quality teams such as Ajax and Manchester City will continue to give chase. In Ozil's view, though, Madrid must stick to their game plan if they want to realise their objective of winning.
"Our goal is to win the match," he said on the club's website.
"With Dortmund we had some trouble. I know some of the players from the national team and also because I've played against them already, but now we'll be playing at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and we want to win.
"Our objective is to win three points always. The match against Dortmund will be a tough one, but we'll be playing at home and before the fans, who will support us. If we put into practice what the coach has told us, we'll certainly win the three points.
He added: "We're Real Madrid and we're playing at home. We're not watching what they're doing. We'll just go out to get those three points."
Dortmund's last trip to Spain ended in a 2-2 draw at Sevilla in the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League group stage.
