Neymar's future has been under constant speculation and it was fuelled by recent comments that he regards playing alongside Messi as a dream come true.
The Brazil international clarified that he does not see himself leaving Santos after renewing his contract until 2014 and that he expects to play alongside Messi in the near future only if the club splurges to sign the Argentine.
"I would like to play with both Messi and Ronaldo. Messi's career is an example to follow for me," he was quoted as saying on El Mundo, "There are no words to describe his game. I just want him to keep on doing what he does with the ball."
"For now, I will only play alongside Messi if he opts to join Santos.
"It's possible for Santos to sign him. All we have to do is sell half of the city!" he joked.
Neymar, who has reportedly been a subject of bids from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City recently, clarified that he is determined to stick to his contract at Santos.
"I don't know anything about Barcelona. One day I'm linked with a move there, and another day I'm supposedly on my way to Madrid. I have a contract with Santos until 2014, though, and that's all I know.
The Brazilian netted a hat-trick in Santos' 4-0 win over Cruzeiro last weekend.
