Cisse: QPR should be higher up

Djibril Cisse believes QPR "don't belong to the bottom" despite still occupying the Barclays Premier League relegation zone following a 1-1 draw with Reading.

The visitors began the brighter and took the lead in the 16th minute, former QPR defender Kaspars Gorkss volleying in after Rangers were all at sea defending a corner.

The hosts were booed off at half-time but ramped up the pressure at the start of the second half and equalised in the 66th minute through Cisse.

However, it leaves both sides looking for their first win of the season - although Cisse feels QPR's position is a false one.

He told Sky Sports 1: "You see the quality we have in the team, we don't belong to the bottom.

"No disrespect to the other teams - we don't belong there but football is on the pitch, it is not by talking.

"We create chances but we don't score, or we don't score enough as the other team get more."

Of Sunday's game, Cisse was frustrated the Hoops did not collect their first win, saying: "At least it's a draw but to be fair we wanted to win this game, we had the opportunity to win it.

"When we have clear chances we have to score.

"That is what we are lacking at the moment but we are going to keep trying."

Reading manager Brian McDermott refused to dwell on either Sunday's result or the midweek defeat by Arsenal, where they squandered a 4-0 lead.

He told Sky Sports News: "It was a good point.

"Our performance today [Sunday] away from home was a really good one - we will take a point and move on.

"You can analyse that game (against Arsenal) to death - I know what happened in that game.

"I thought at times we were excellent today [Sunday]."

He added: "This is never an easy place to come. They've got some good players.

"We have to move on and we are playing at home next game and we are looking forward to it.

"I know we have got another game against Norwich and that is at home and that is all I'm focusing on."
