Van Gaal surprises in Oranje squad
Holland coach Louis van Gaal has finalised a 24-man squad for the friendly against Belgium next week with the surprise inclusion of Bruno Martins Indi.
The Feyenoord defender was not named in the preliminary 32-man squad announced 10 days ago, but earned a call-up after impressing in the Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev in midweek.
"I thought he was a real revelation," Van Gaal said of the player.
"The question now is whether he can make the step-up to the top level."
Khalid Boulahrouz (Sporting Lisbon), Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa), Gregory van der Wiel (Ajax), Stijn Schaars (Sporting Lisbon), Vurnon Anita (Ajax), Jordy Clasie (Feyenoord), Siem de Jong (Ajax), Luuk de Jong (Borussia Monchengladbach) and Ola John (Benfica) are the players to miss out on the final squad.
Holland will face neighbours Belgium on August 15.
