Simeone 'too young' to take over Inter
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has ruled himself out of taking charge at Inter Milan after, insisting that he is too young for such a big job.
With Inter Milan struggling and rumours of manager Claudio Ranieri's job being on the line, Simeone was linked with a move to San Siro.
Simeone, having played for Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Lazio in his playing days, ruled himself out of leaving the Rojiblancos.
"I'm focused on Atletico and I think only of Atletico," he told Mediaset Premium. "I'm too young for Inter."
The former midfield ace has, of course, also been linked with Lazio but he was unwilling to speak on the issue given the current uncertainty surrounding Edy Reja's future as coach.
The 66-year-old Italian has already offered to step down as Lazio boss for the second time this season, but Simeone is hopeful that he will be persuaded into remaining at the helm.
"All of the players are with him, so I hope he decides to stay," Simeone concluded.
Atletico Madrid have been undefeated since Simeone took over the job from previous manager Gregorio Manzano.
