Norwich to appeal Johnson red card

Norwich have announced that they will appeal the red card shown to midfielder Bradley Johnson on Tuesday night.

Johnson was sent off in the 82nd minute of the 0-0 draw against Newcastle at Carrow Road after an off-the-ball scuffle with Magpies striker Loic Remy.

Remy was also shown a red card by referee Chris Foy because of the flare-up, in which the pair squared up to each other and engaged in a bout of pushing.

Norwich said in a statement on Twitter: "We can confirm that the club have appealed against the red card received by Bradley Johnson in the 0-0 draw with Newcastle United."
