Jose Mourinho's men are in the Champions League last 16, beat Crystal Palace on Saturday to move two points behind Barclays Premier League leaders Arsenal, their next league opponents on December 23, and play Sunderland in the Capital One Cup quarter-final on Tuesday night.
"It is great to be in the position we are," Cech said.
"We have topped the group in the Champions League, (we are) two points off the Premier League leader and after Tuesday we can be in the semi-final of the domestic cup and we know that we haven't reached our peak.
"We still have room for improvement, but on all fronts we are in a very good position, so we can be pleased with that.
"Hopefully over the next couple of weeks we will be in an even better position than we are now and look forward to that.
"As long as the boss is happy with the progression of the team then it's obvious everything is going in the direction he expected or wants.
"We are in a good position. We know that we still have room for improvement and it is encouraging because if you really start hitting the peak then we will have even more chances to win games."
The Sunderland fixture is Chelsea's sixth of nine in December, with progress in cup competitions meaning the hectic schedule will continue.
Goalkeeper Cech, a mainstay of Mourinho's successful first spell as boss, added: "We will have a very big schedule and it is important to go through this period with as many points as you can get to be in a good position, because the amount of games the top teams will play in the new year can be decisive.
"The more you move closer to March and April, the pressure starts rising, you have to be ready."
The Arsenal contest is a chance to mete out a significant psychological blow and Chelsea have already won at the Emirates Stadium this season, albeit in the Capital One Cup.
"The head-to-head against Arsenal will be a brilliant opportunity to go top," Cech said.
"It's great to know that we can do it. We would like to repeat the same type of performance and control we had in the Capital One Cup win."
