McCourt made the switch to the Sky Bet League Two club in October on an initial month-long deal but will now remain at Plainmoor until January 4.
The Foxes academy product, who has yet to feature for his parent club, made his Football League debut for the Gulls away at Wycombe in October and has featured a further six times since.
BURTON are confident that leading scorer Adam McGurk suffered no serious damage after he was knocked unconscious at the weekend.
McGurk, who has found the net eight times this season, was carried off on a stretcher with his neck in a brace after being pole-axed by his own goalkeeper during the first half of Saturday's FA Cup second-round tie at Fleetwood.
Albion boss Gary Rowett said: ''The ball came in the box and Dean (Lyness) came out to clear and he must've caught Adam at the same time.
''He was out cold. Mind, he looks dazed at the best of times with that haircut!
''Seriously, though, when you see someone go down like that, you hope for the best.
''I think he'll be okay but you worry when someone is knocked out cold.''
