Although they had to endure a difficult start to the campaign, the Warriors are showing signs of improvement following the appointment of Alex Weaver after former coach V. Selvaraj stepped down in June.
While they headed into Thursday's game high in confidence after last week's 2-1 win at Hougang United, the same could not be said about their opponents who had suffered a 6-2 humbling at the hands of Tampines Rovers just four days earlier.
And it was the Warriors who took the lead in the 28th minute after Shimpei Sakurada met Tatsuro Inui's right-wing cross and sent his header into the back of the net, before Mislav Karoglan made it 2-0 three minutes later when he clinically fired home after great work down the right by Jeremy Chiang.
DPMM did offer some resistance and managed to pull one back in the 34th minute; the hosts going to sleep and leaving Tales dos Santos unmarked to chest home a Suhaime Yussof cross from close range.
But eight minutes after the restart, another excellent delivery from Inui was converted by Karoglan, which proved to be enough to wrap up the three points for the Weaver's charges.
The result was enough to send Warriors up to seventh on the table, ahead of Harimau Muda on goal difference although the young Malaysian side have a game in hand, while DPMM's free fall continues as they now find themselves third from bottom.
