Although the Red Giants entered the game three places and six points above PKNS, they found themselves behind after 14 minutes when Nizad Ayub broke the deadlock.

However, Selangor did equalise in the 63rd minute through an effort by Raimi Nor, who struck again just seven minutes later with what ultimately proved to be the winner to hand his side all three points.

The result was enough to take Irfan Bakti's side up to second ahead of Darul Takzim, who were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly FELDA United at the Larkin Stadium.

Following a goalless first half, it was Harimau Selatan who took the lead when Haidin Azman struck in the 64th minute, but eight minutes from time, Rudie Ramli levelled the scores for the visitors to deal a real blow to the Johor side's title hopes.

Selangor are also now just four points behind off the pace after leaders LIONSXII played out a 1-1 draw away to Perak.

In a game that was largely dominated by the hosts, Paulo Rangel opened the scoring in the 59th minute when he scored on the rebound, after Izwan Mahbud could only push Yong Kuong Yong's drilled effort into the Brazilian's path.

But with 14 minutes left on the clock, Shahfiq Ghani sent a terrific 30-yard freekick in off the post to earn the visitors a vital point.

Negri Sembilan's relegation to the Premier League was confirmed after they were beaten 2-1 by fellow strugglers T-Team, although it was them who took the lead in the 28th minute through a Shahurain Abu Samah strike.

However, T-Team equalised in the 75th minute when Damir Ibric scored, before George Boateng netted his second goal in two games to condemn the Deer to the drop.

Elsewhere, an ATM side missing a host of key players, including Marlon Alex James and Hairuddin Omar, had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Terengganu.

Despite having a weakened starting XI, the Armed Forces managed to take the lead seven minutes after the hour mark when D. Christie Jayaseelan found the breakthrough, but Farderin Kadir struck 11 minutes from time to force the draw for Terengganu.

Finally, goals from Badhri Radzi and Zamri Ramli handed Kelantan a 2-0 triumph over Pahang at the Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium.
