The visitors looked on course for three points at the Jalan Besar Stadium after Leonel Nunez put them ahead in the tenth minute, but with seven minutes remaining, Safuwan Baharudin drilled home the equaliser for the LIONSXII to keep them four points ahead of their second-placed opponents.
With just three games left in the campaign, the Singaporean outfit can afford to drop points and still be crowned champions but Harimau Selantan are not ready to throw in the towel just yet, especially given the tricky run-in the leaders have.
"We'll try our best to win the last three games as anything can happen," said Darul Takzim assistant coach Ismail Ibrahim.
"We don't know what might happen next, especially given LIONSXII's last game is away to Kelantan while we're at home to Selangor.
"We'll just try our best to win the last three games and see where that takes us."
Although Darul Takzim became the first opposition side to leave the Jalan Besar Stadium with a point, Ismail insists his side cannot be overly pleased with the achievement given they had arrived in Singapore targeting a win.
"We came here to get the three points and we tried our best," he added. "We were on course for that until the last six minutes when LIONSXII equalised.
"Yes, it was a lapse in concentration [that led to Safuwan's equaliser]. We know LIONSXII always score from freekicks and corner kicks but yet we conceded from such a situation."
Darul Takzim are also in the running for the Malaysia FA Cup and meet Kelantan in the final on June 29.
