After losing their opening Group A game to Sime Darby, the Armed Forces bounced back by taking four points from the next two games against Selangor and Johor.
And they continued their good form on Saturday as they took the lead in the 43rd minute through a Bruno Martelotto effort, before Marlon Alex James added a second in the 75th minute.
D. Christie Jayaseelan then scored six minutes later to make it 3-0, and although Rasyid Aya managed to pull one back for the visitors immediately after, the night belonged to ATM as they rounded off the scoring at the death when Martelotto doubled his tally.
The result sent B. Sathianathan’s charges top of the group ahead of Sime Darby, who played out a 1-1 draw against Selangor at the Shah Alam Stadium.
With a new coach at the helm following the resignation of Irfan Bakti, the Red Giants started well and took the lead after Liberia international Francis Forkey Doe scored just before the break.
But 11 minutes from time, Karlo Primorac grabbed his fourth goal in three games to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.
Over in Group B, Darul Takzim failed to hold on to a winning position as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to T-Team.
Harimau Selatan were on course for victory after Norshahrul Idlan Talaha opened the scoring two minutes before the break, but Abdul Latiff Suhaimi equalised for T-Team in the 80th minute.
And a minute from time, former Netherlands international George Boateng scored to win it for the Titans and leave their opponents’ hopes of progress firmly in the balance.
PKNS FC remain top of the group with a three-point lead despite being beaten 1-0 by FELDA United at the Temerloh Mini Stadium, courtesy of Nsumbu Mazuwa's 41st-minute winner.
Negeri Sembilan climbed to the top of Group C after coming from behind to record a 3-2 victory over defending champions Kelantan at the Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium.
Although the hosts fell behind in the 13th minute through a S. Sivanesan effort, the Red Warriors equalised four minutes before the break when Indra Putra Mahayuddin found the back of the net, before Ahmad Fakri Saarani put them ahead in the 48th minute.
But three minutes before the hour mark, Fabio Leandro Barbosa equalised for the visitors and he grabbed a second in the 77th minute to hand his side an impressive result.
Terengganu remain in the hunt after picking up their first win of the campaign by beating Pahang 2-1.
Following a goalless first half at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Turtles striker Jean-Emmanuel Effa Owona broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute, only for the visitors to equalise five minutes later through a Azamuddin Akil effort.
But just as a draw looked on the cards, Khairul Ramadhan Zauwawi struck in the final minute to win it for Terengganu, although they remain bottom of the group.
Finally in Group D, Super League champions LIONSXII got their campaign up and running with a 2-1 win over Perak at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
A glancing header by Hariss Harun in the 61st minute handed the hosts the lead, but Perak responded five minutes later when Noor Hazrul Mustafa scored with a ferocious freekick.
Nonetheless, the LIONSXII struck again five minutes from time when Safuwan Baharudin scored with a clever lob over Farizal Marlias to claim all three points.
Sarawak moved top of the group after cruising to a 4-0 win at home to Kedah, thanks to goals from Zamri Morshidi, Muamer Salibasic, Bobby Gonzales and Mazwandi Zekeria.
