Nigel Adkins made 11 changes to the starting line-up in the previous round against Stevenage, where they blooded in a number of academy players.
Jack Cork could feature as he steps up his return from an ankle injury, while new signing Artur Boruc may be involved in the squad depending on international clearance.
Wednesday will be without Ross Barkley, Rhys McCabe and Martin Taylor with boss Dave Jones planning several changes against his former club.
Midfielder Barkley and centre-half Taylor are both cup-tied after already appearing in the competition for Everton and Watford respectively, while McCabe was forced out of Saturday's home defeat to Bolton at half-time with a thigh injury.
But Joe Mattock is available following suspension and he could return at right-back, although Daniel Jones is hoping to retain his place. Another defender, Reda Johnson, is still struggling with the foot injury that kept him out against Bolton.
Strikers Gary Madine and Chris Maguire are pressing for recalls to the starting line-up and Irish midfielder Paul Corry is in contention for his first appearance for the club.
