FA Cup Weekend Team News

A round-up of team news ahead of this weekend's FA Cup fixtures.

And Everton lead at half time....

Everton vs Wigan

Everton manager David Moyes has not yet made a decision on goalkeeper Tim Howard's fitness. The United States international missed last week's win over Reading with a back injury and if he is not passed fit then Jan Mucha will make his first FA Cup appearance for the Toffees. Centre-back Phil Jagielka is missing after surgery on an ankle injury so John Heitinga is set to deputise.

Adrian Lopez and Ryo Miyaichi are available for Wigan after featuring in an Under-21s fixture as they continue their rehabilitation from respective hamstring and ankle problems. Manager Roberto Martinez may once again give an opportunity to some fringe players - such as striker Callum McManaman and midfielder Fraser Fyvie - who have come into the Wigan team for other cup games this season.

Manchester City vs Barnsley

Manchester City will not risk captain Vincent Kompany (calf) or striker Sergio Aguero (knee) against npower Championship strugglers Barnsley. Right-backs Maicon and Micah Richards (both knee) remain sidelined while midfielder Jack Rodwell (hamstring) is once again injured.

Barnsley midfielder Stephen Dawson could have a late fitness test, having missed the last nine matches since damaging ankle ligaments at Ipswich in mid-January. On-loan Stoke defender Rory Delap and fellow loanee Ryan Tunnicliffe, from Manchester United, were both unused substitutes at Burnley in midweek and could return to the starting line-up.

Manchester Utd vs Chelsea

Ryan Giggs will sit out with his wide berth likely to go to Antonio Valencia or Ashley Young. Phil Jones (ankle) and Paul Scholes (knee) are definitely out, while the main focus will be on whether Wayne Rooney gets a start after being left on the bench against Madrid.

Chelsea captain John Terry and striker Fernando Torres could make way as Rafael Benitez again rotates his squad. Demba Ba, Victor Moses, Ramires and Nathan Ake return to the squad after missing the trip to Steaua Bucharest, while Oriol Romeu (knee) remains a long-term absentee.

Millwall vs Blackburn

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett will give on-loan striker Rob Hulse every chance to prove his fitness. The QPR loanee is struggling with a stomach injury. Benik Afobe has returned to parent club Arsenal after suffering a serious knee injury while James Henry (knee) is also missing, with Martyn Woolford cup-tied.

Leon Best is in line to make his first Blackburn start as DJ Campbell is cup-tied. Campbell's fellow loanees Cameron Stewart and David Jones are also unavailable, meaning Josh King (hamstring) and David Dunn (calf) could be among the substitutes. Colin Kazim-Richards, Lee Williamson (both ankle), Martin Olsson (eye), Dickson Etuhu (knee) and Paul Robinson (back) remain unavailable.
