Aston Villa v Leicester preview

The defender has been on the bench for the last two games with Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat at Hull marking the end of Paul Lambert’s reign as Villa manager.

Caretaker Scott Marshall is in temporary charge and may be tempted to recall Christian Benteke after the striker started the last two games on the bench but he is without Philippe Senderos (calf) and Libor Kozak (broken leg).

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson is hopeful defender Matthew Upson will be available for selection against Aston Villa in the FA Cup.

The central defender was forced off against Arsenal with a knock, while his partner at the back Robert Huth will definitely be missing as he is cup-tied.

Other than that, the Foxes have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s encounter, with Chris Wood battling to recover from an ankle problem and Kasper Schmeichel still out after suffering a broken metatarsal.
