Gallas confident Tottenham can hold off Lyon

Tottenham Hotspur defender William Gallas believes his side will be able to overcome Lyon and progress into the last-16 of the Europa League.

Surely that is a foul by Adebayor!

Gareth Bale scored a fantastic brace either side of Samuel Umtiti's strike to hand Spurs a slender 2-1 win over Lyon at White Hart Lane in the first leg of their round of 32 tie last week.

Lyon rebounded back strongly from their loss with a 4-0 rout of Bordeaux in the French Ligue 1, and Les Gones will undoubtedly be brimming with confidence when they host the Lilywhites for the second leg of their Europa League last-32 tie.

Despite having conceded a crucial away goal, Gallas claims Spurs have more than enough quality within their ranks to beat Lyon at the Stade de Gerland and wants his side to play their usual, fast-paced, counter-attacking football.

"We have to play our game and we can score at any time," Gallas was quoted as saying by the official Spurs website.

"We don't have to try to come back to London with a 0-0 scoreline, because if they score and we then fail to score, we'll be out.

"If we put them under pressure straight away they will be wary because if they concede a goal, they will be in trouble.

"We have to play our game, the way we play all the time and then I think then we can qualify."

Spurs have been prolific in front of goal on their travels this season and have scored in every away game bar two.
