The Serie A title-chasers will be looking to get their Group F campaign back on track after a convincing 3-0 defeat at PSV Eindhoven three weeks ago having began with a 4-0 victory over AIK Solna.
But they will be without influential midfielder Marek Hamsik - the Slovakia international misses out due to suspension - while defenders Christian Maggio and Hugo Campagnaro have been rested.
However, coach Walter Mazzarri is likely to field a strong side with Edinson Cavani, Goran Pandev and Paolo Cannavaro all included alongside Miguel Angel Britos after his injury lay-off as Napoli bid to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat by Serie A leaders Juventus at the weekend.
Mazzarri's future as Partenopei boss is the subject of much speculation and the 51-year-old admitted he may be tempted to stand down at the end of the season.
"For the first time in my career my contract is running down. The time is right for me to do that at the moment for various reasons. But I'll give my heart and soul for the side as always," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"At the end of the season I'll think about what to do depending on how I feel. At the moment I'm focussed only on the Dnipro and Chievo games."
They will come up against a Dnipro side who top the group after wins against PSV and AIK.
The Ukrainian outfit are also coached by former Tottenham boss Juande Ramos, who won the UEFA Cup in successive seasons with Sevilla in 2006 and 2007.
