Hapoel Tel Aviv's Salim Tuama remains confident his side can progress but knows they must win their clash against Viktoria Plzen if they are to stand any chance.

The Israeli side are bottom of the group standings after a 3-0 home defeat by defending champions Atletico Madrid and a draw against Academica, who also have one point but a slightly better goal difference.

Hapoel were boosted ahead of their return to European competition by a 3-0 home win over Maccabi Haifa and Tuama is refusing to write off his side's hopes of progressing in the Europa League.

"If we want to stay in the competition we must beat the Czechs, and for that we will have all our fans with us," Tuama told the club's official website ahead of the match with Plzen.

"In the match (against Maccabi Haifa) we got more proof of the strength of Hapoel Tel Aviv at Bloomfield.

"I believe that with the electrifying atmosphere of our home supporters we can win and say we had a perfect week of football."

Plzen lie second behind unbeaten group leaders Atletico after a win over Academica and a draw against the Spanish side.

If Hapoel can engineer a win, they will become the first Israeli club to win a home game against Czech opponents.

Plzen coach Pavel Vrba knows the next two games against Hapoel will be decisive in determining his side's future in the competition.

"It will be very finely balanced and we will depend on each point," Vrba said. "Therefore we will be happy to take any points from Tel Aviv.

"Personally, I think that these two matches against Hapoel can decide whether (we will progress)."
