Though the team's league form has been inconsistent in La Liga this season, Athletic Bilbao has excelled in cup competitions. The club now find themselves on the brink of both domestic and European glory, having successfully qualified for the Copa del Rey and Europa League finals.

Though several observers have suggested that the youthfulness of Bilbao's squad could work to their disadvantage, Bielsa does not agree as he believes his team will treat the final game no differently from their other fixtures.

"We have the youngest side in the Spanish league but throughout all of the games that I have had them, anxiety and mental preparation has never been a problem for this team, just as they have been all season, they will be uninhibited and play naturally - even more so now that they are closer to victory," he stated to Marca.

The Argentinean is full of pride for his charges' showings this season, including a memorable performance to eliminate English giants Manchester United. However, he is aware it would all be forgotten if they fail in their bid to bring the Europa League trophy back to Bilbao.

"Reaching two finals is always precious, but to win them is much more precious because losing is very disappointing, I am pleased to have arrived at this point and am eager to win. God willing, we will not lose." Bielsa said.

Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao will play in the Europa League final tonight [Wednesday].
