Both sides have been impressive in the competition all season long and will meet on May 9 in Bucharest to fight it out for the title.
And having witnessed the damage Bilbao are capable of dealing on a weekly basis in the league, Simeone admits his side will be up against it on Wednesday.
"They're a team with a lot of intensity, a direct style of football, quick, brave, a team that isn't afraid to play their way, even in away matches," Simeone told UEFA.com.
"They've played like that throughout the whole season. And knowing the team and their coach, I know they will be the same in any game, whether it's a friendly or a final."
Simeone does however reveal he knows the best way to cope with their opponents' fast-flowing style of play.
"We'll need to be compact and fast, and more focused than in a league match," the Argentinean added.
"To face another Spanish club, having played each other in the league, also means that we know each other very well on many levels.
"And the best thing about facing a Spanish club is that it is very important for Spanish football."
Atletico are currently fifth in La Liga while Bilbao are 9th after an indifferent league campaign.
