Kanoute eyes Milan showdown
Sevilla striker Frederic Kanoute admits he would relish the chance to lock horns with Italian giants AC Milan in next year's UEFA Cup after both clubs missed out on Champions League football.
Sevilla, who won the UEFA Cup in 2006 and 2007 before securing Champions League this season, and Milan will be among the favourites to win the competition after each finished fifth in their domestic campaigns.
The Andalusian side met 2007 European champions Milan in last summer's UEFA Super Cup and although they took a first-half lead through Renato Dirnei, the Italian outfit hit back in the second half to win 3-1.
"I would like it a lot because the game against them in the Super Cup was very nice but in different circumstances," Kanoute told the club's official website after Sevilla's 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
"In the coming year we could play against them in a different competition and I hope we will be able to win."
