Germany followed up on their record-breaking group stage showing with a 4-2 win over Greece in the quarter-finals of Euro 2012. Now, Joachim Low's squad face an experienced Italian side in the semi-finals, and Moller believes the team must keep calm under pressure if they are to emerge on top.

"It will have to be a game of patience," he told

"I expect a moment of individual brilliance to decide the game similar to the group-stage match against Netherlands when Mario Gomez scored both goals in great fashion."

Nonetheless, the former attacking midfielder considers the Germans favourites to qualify for the finals, and go on to lift the Henri Delaunay trophy.

"I am not surprised that Joachim Low's team have done so well so far. It was clear to me that the title was only ours to lose," Moller shared.

"I am very optimistic. If we don't get in our own way then we can pull it off."

Germany take on Italy tonight [Thursday] for a place in the Euro 2012 finals.
