Borini has impressed for the Giallorossi since joining the club last summer, and was rewarded with his first cap last month in the 1-0 friendly defeat to the United States.
For much of the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign, the Italy attack was led by Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi and AC Milan's Antonio Cassano, but both have been hit by injury and illness respectively and remain signficant doubts.
While Prandelli can still call upon the likes of Giampaolo Pazzini and Mario Balotelli amongst others, Borini is hoping he can play a part for the Azzurri this summer.
"Yes, I hope that I will be at the Euros but this is not up to me," Borini told Sky Sport Italia.
"I must continue to work well and put in good displays on a regular basis. Then, the coach will be the one to decide."
Borini will get his next chance to impress on Saturday when Roma take on Serie A leaders AC Milan at the San Siro.
