Spain were drawn in Group C on Friday evening, alongside the Republic of Ireland and Croatia as well, but it is the Italians that worry Del Bosque the most, especially considering the recent 2-1 friendly defeat that the Azzurri inflicted on his charges back in August.
"Italy have only just beaten us and they are strong opponents," Del Bosque told Cuatro Television.
Nonetheless, the veteran coach admits he is relatively pleased with the draw for next summer's tournament.
"It will be tough, in the European Championships there are 16 tough teams and every one poses their own threat.
"But the outcome that I wanted has come to fruition.
"We have to play a more-renowned team like Italy, and two teams that made it through the play-offs.
"We will prepare carefully, we have to focus onr our own game and get ready."
Italy and Spain face off in Group C's opening game on June 10 in Gdansk.
