Die Roten will travel to the Mestalla to take on Valencia in a Champions League clash which will have a huge bearing on their chances of progression in the tournament.
Valencia and Bayern are currently on nine points in Group F, three points ahead of BATE Borisov, and a defeat for either the Spanish of German outfit on Tuesday could leave their hopes of progressing into the knockout stages of the competition hanging by a thread.
Martinez, who previously played for Athletic Bilbao, knows all about Valencia having come up against them several times during his career, and the utility player claims that his team-mates should keep a close eye on Soldado, a player he believes is the main threat for Los Che.
"He [Soldado] is a very agile striker, who moves well and can score a goal any time," Martinez was quoted as saying by the official Bayern website.
"He scored a lot of goals already.
"I think that he is the soul of Valencia."
The Bavarians have already managed to beat Valencia 2-1 at home earlier in this season's Champions League, but Martinez knows that it will be an extremely tough challenge for his side to get a positive result from the Mestalla.
"It [The Mestalla] is a difficult ground for a visiting team," Martinez added.
"The home fans support their team strongly, it is a compact stadium. I like it a lot, I enjoy playing there.
"Valencia are a very good, balanced team with a number of excellent individuals.
"They've had to sell lots of big names in recent years, the likes of Villa, Silva, Mata, Albiol, Marchena and Jordi Alba.
"Despite that, they're always there or thereabouts near the top, routinely fighting for third or fourth place in the 'other league' beneath the dominant pair of Barcelona and Real Madrid."
Bayern have been dominant in the Bundesliga this season and currently top the league table, while Valencia have struggled domestically and find themselves in eighth position.
