The Parisian club went on an extensive summer recruitment drive and signed Thiago Silva, Gregory Van der Wiel, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Marco Verratti and Lucas Moura. Alongside the Ligue 1 title, the club's Qatari owners have made winning the Champions League a top priority for the expensively-assembled squad for the new season.
Ibrahimovic believes that this goal is a realistic one and hopes that he will finally get to wear a Champions League winner's medal at the end of the season. The nomadic striker has won the domestic league in Netherlands, Italy and Spain but has yet to achieve success on the continental front.
"It's very exciting. Everything is new to me, as it is for the club - in the sense they are becoming big and powerful, signing big players, great players, and they want to win big trophies," he told Uefa.com.
"I believe their dreams can come true and I want to be part of that. They are collecting all the big players together and want to create a big team.
"I wouldn't have come here if I didn't believe PSG could win the Champions League. It's true I have never won it, but I'm not desperate.
"Believe in the team. We will be exciting to watch because we have such fantastic players and a fantastic coach."
The Swede also revealed that the presence of ex-Milan coach Carlos Ancelotti at the PSG helm was a deciding factor in helping him make a switch to the Ligue 1.
"It's destiny. We were close in 2006 and something could have happened in 2010. We were far away, but it could have happened; now, finally, we are working together.
"He played a big part, absolutely. I talked to him before I came and he convinced me, telling me it was a fantastic opportunity. Everything he told me would happen is what I am seeing now."
PSG have been drawn in Group A alongside Porto, Dynamo Kviv and Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League. They kick off their participation in the tournament with a match against Ukrainian outfit Dynamo Kviv next Tuesday.
