Despite scoring a vital goal for Chelsea against Barcelona in this year's semi-final, Ramires missed out on the Champions League final due to a suspension. The Brazilian realizes it will be difficult for the club to repeat their victorious campaign in the next edition of the competition, but he remains undaunted and will give his best to retaining the Champions League trophy.

"I now have to keep playing well, expectations will be much higher from now on," he said to Sportv.

"God willing, I want to win the Champions League again and win important awards. I'll keep working hard to achieve that."

Ramires recently received Chelsea's Player of the Year award, an honour which was the icing on the cake for a memorable year at Stamford Bridge.

"That made me very happy. It was hard to guess who would win it because it's the team-mates that vote," he shared.

"When I received the award, I came to the conclusion that this was really a blessed year for me."
