Hart played a key role in helping City qualify for the Champions League for the first time and Roberto Mancini's side start the group phase at home to Napoli on Wednesday.
City also meet German giants Bayern Munich and Spanish side Villarreal in the coming months after landing arguably the toughest draw in the group stage.
However, England No 1 Hart is relishing the opportunity to play against Europe's elite and expects to be humming along to the Champions League theme tune.
"When the Champions League music starts on Wednesday night, I'll be humming along," said Hart.
"As a club, players and fans, we're looking forward to it. It's really exciting and we can't wait.
"Some of my closest friends, the England lads, have played in the Champions League, so it's a big thing to be there as well.
"It's something we've been striving to do. You can't get any better than winning in Europe.
"There is belief that we can do well - we're not fearing anyone.
"It's vital that we've got players who have been there and done it in the Champions League. It is going to be a step up in class, but we've got quality."
