FC Twente 2-2 Benfica
Bryan Ruiz's late equaliser salvaged a 2-2 draw for Twente but Benfica are still in pole position to qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stage.
But for Twente, the match started so brightly after Luuk de Jong opened the scoring with an excellent strike from outside the area.
However, Benfica found an equaliser just fifteen minutes later when Oscar Cardozo received the ball from Axel Witsel and advanced towards the Twente penalty box, before unleashing a sublime curling effort beyond the reach of Nikolay Mihaylov.
And by the 35th minute, the Portuguese outfit had taken the lead thanks to summer signing Nolito.
Excellent work by Nicolas Gaitan and Cardozo put Witsel in a shooting opportunity, but the Belgian youngster unselfishly squared the ball for former Barcelona striker Nolito to tap home.
Stung from going behind, Twente then pushed forward and had good scoring chances through Bryan Ruiz and Denny Landzaat, who were both denied smartly by Benfica keeper Artur.
However, Ruiz - linked with a move to Tottenham recently - was not to be denied, and finally netted Twente's equaliser in the 80th minute when he leapt highest to nod home Ola John's cross.
The Benfica defenders appealed for a foul to no avail, but the Portuguese club are still in the driving seat to qualify for the next round.
