The Serbian striker has agreed a deal until the end of the 2015-16 season and will join up with his new team-mates on January 3 after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old has been on loan at Swedish Allsvenskan side Helsingborg since the summer and has impressed with a return of 14 goals in 19 appearances in all competitions.
Fuerth coach Mike Buskens said: "We are delighted with Nikola, an open and intelligent player.
"He has shown his quality with 31 goals in 41 games in this calendar year.
"We hope that Nikola will help us."
Fuerth gained promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in their history at the end of last season but have found the going tough in their maiden top-flight campaign, scoring just 11 times in 17 games to sit bottom of the table, 10 points from safety heading into the winter break.
