Die Roten have made a perfect start to their Bundesliga season so far, winning all of their first eight league games and are five points clear at the top of the table.
One of the standout performers in the rampant Bayern team has been Muller, who already has six goals to his name for the club in the Bundesliga this season, and Heynckes was quick to single the German international out for praise.
"He's back to his best this season, agile, lively and fresh," Heynckes was quoted as saying by the official Bayern website.
"It's having an effect on our game. He's one of the leading players in the team, he's an international, he happily takes responsibility, he leads from the front and he's always totally committed.
"It's fantastic to see him putting on a show."
Heynckes also revealed that Robben, kept out of the team for the past few weeks owing to a lower back injury, would be in line for a return to first team action soon.
"Arjen trained really well on Tuesday," Heynckes added.
"He had no pain at all. He'll play plenty of very good games for us and score important goals in the future.
"I think he could be a candidate for the cup [DFB Pokal] against Kaiserslautern. I'm optimistic."
However, while the Bavarian side have swept the competition aside in their domestic league, they have not found success in Europe as forthcoming, with Heynckes and his men labouring to a narrow 1-0 win over Lille on Tuesday and the 67-year-old coach has blamed fatigue for their lacklustre performance.
"When you're playing every three days, you're never going to produce an absolutely top performance every time," Heynckes explained.
"It's not possible. The demands we have at the moment can't simply be spread across 11 sets of shoulders.
"All the players have to play their part, and the game in Lille proved that to me yet again.
"I'll definitely be making a couple of changes for next Wednesday's cup tie against Kaiserslautern."
Bayern will be looking to win their 9th consecutive league fixture when they take on Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.
