Guardiola, who left Barcelona in May after a stunning four years in charge, has been repeatedly linked with the top clubs in Europe. However, the 41-year-old has always maintained that he will see out a one year break from football in order to recharge his batteries before taking on any new challenge.
Toni was formerly his team-mate at Brescia and is said to be on close terms with the former midfielder. The Italian striker, who has also been on Byaern's books, thinks Guardiola would be a perfect fit and revealed that Guardiola has enquired about the Bavarian giants recently.
Current manager Jupp Heynckes is widely respected within the club after leading them to a record-breaking start to the Bundesliga season but it is still believed that enquiries by the Spaniard will warrant a consideration by the club hierarchy.
Toni revealed to German newspaper Bild: "He [Guardiola] asked me about Bayern. I think the philosophy of how that club is run pleases him."
"He is a very good coach who would fit that team perfectly. He would give the German mentality some flair.
"He should definitely coach Bayern. They are one of the best teams in the world.
"In Italy [the clubs] are catching up. The only club in Italy that is comparable to Bayern is Juventus, who will be at the same level in less than 10 years."
In recent months, Guardiola has also been linked to AC Milan following the club's poor start to their Serie A campaign under Massimiliano Allegri.
