Sunday's draw means Dortmund have only picked up 12 points from seven Bundesliga games this season and are currently nine behind leaders Bayern Munich, but what was perhaps more damaging than the result were injuries to Blaszczykowski, Mats Hummels and Sven Bender.

Nonetheless, the Poland captain, who will miss his country's upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, has vowed to come back stronger, even though he admits it was frustrating to pick up the injury.

"I immediately felt something wrong," he told Bild. "As an athlete, you notice this.

"It's not easy, especially since I've had a good season. But I've had worse things. I will fight and try to come back quickly."

"This is very annoying but it cannot be helped. The guys can do it without me!"

Blaszczykowski was a key factor in Dortmund's Bundesliga triumph last season after filling in for the injured Mario Gotze and weighing in with seven goals in 40 games in all competition.
