Unfancied Belarusian side BATE beat a lacklustre Bayern side 3-1 on Tuesday to consign Die Roten to their first competitive defeat of the season.

With Hoffenheim set to visit the Allianz Arena on Saturday, Rummenigge wants manager Jupp Heynckes and his men to move on from their shock defeat and make the perfect response by producing a performance and beating the Rhein-Neckar-Arena outfit.

"I think it's crucial that we don't allow this defeat to throw us off course," Rummenigge was quoted as saying by

"It's important that we respond immediately against Hoffenheim on Saturday, go full throttle once again and show our Bundesliga rivals that Bayern may have lost, but we aren't down and out."

Hoffenheim made a poor start to their campaign, losing their first two games, but has since bounced back to pick up seven points from their last three games and manager Markus Babbel hopes his team can build on their decent run of results.

"It's important that we continue along our current path," Babbel said.

Babbel also stated his team were trying their best not to get distracted by news of midfielder Boris Vukcevic's accident which has left the 22-year-old in critical condition in hospital.

"Confidence and hope is the over-riding factor," Babbel added.

"We've got to go about our daily routine somehow."

Hoffenheim will not have fond memories of their visit to the Allianz Arena last season when they were spanked 7-1 by Bayern and will undoubtedly be keen to take revenge for that humiliation.
