Frankfurt moved top of the pile thanks to a 4-0 win at Hoffenheim on Saturday, a result that came after a 2-0 victory over Augsburg on the opening day of their first season back in the top flight following promotion.
What may come as a surprise to many is purely the result of hard work and precision, according to the man who led Stuttgart to the Bundesliga title in 2007.
"We had a lot of time in pre-season - eight weeks - and I had the team playing together this way right from the beginning," Veh said.
"It is important that you have the right mentality and the lads all fit in well together and get on with each other.
"The atmosphere during pre-season was good and, for our aim of avoiding relegation, it is also important that we get these results."
