Few had doubts about Bayern Munich's ability to take down newly promoted Greuther Furth, and the Bavarian club lived up to expectations by firing three goals past their opponents. Heynckes was full of praise for his squad's showing, and he hoped the result was a sign of things to come for Bayern.

"We were very composed, smart and clever too. Naturally, it's normal that you need a little time to get going. We were playing a promoted team who were still euphoric after what they achieved, and that's never easy. But after scoring the opening goal, we controlled the rhythm of the match and we fully deserved to win," he said to the club's official website.

"We're aiming very high this season, the team is fired up and extremely motivated, and we're getting through a lot of good work, so I'm not surprised by today's result."

Winger Arjen Robben echoed his manager's sentiments and complimented Furth for managing to hold his side back for most of the first period.

"It was very tough for us in the first half, so compliments to Fürth. They did very well and we didn't create many chances. It was different in the second half, they had to come at us a bit more and we had more space, which we then used," he stated.

"The important thing is that we remain constant, keep on improving, and set off on a run right from the start."

Bayern Munich welcome Stuttgart to the Allianz Arena for their Bundesliga fixture next Sunday.
