Hamburg close to signing Adler
Goalkeeper Rene Adler's move from Bayer Leverkusen to Hamburg has moved a step closer after the board of the northern German club approved the signing.
Adler, who is out of contract this summer, has already undergone a medical in Hamburg and is now set to negotiate personal terms, with the transfer expected to go through today [Wednesday].
Talks between Hamburg and the player commenced in January, but the club's board of directors, who have the final say on any player transfers, did not meet to discuss the issue until last night [Tuesday], and they gave the club's director of sport Frank Arnesen a positive answer.
